SplitFair splits a bill by **who ordered what**, not by an even headcount. Here's the whole flow, start to settled. ## 1. Start a new bill From the **Bills** screen, tap the button to add a new bill. Give it a name you'll recognize later — "Dinner at Luigi's", "Saturday groceries" — so it's easy to find in your library. ## 2. Add the people Add everyone who's sharing the bill. Each person gets their own color and initials so they're easy to tell apart at a glance while you assign items. ## 3. Enter the items Add each line from the receipt with its price. You don't need to enter a total — SplitFair always computes totals for you, so there's nothing to keep in sync. ## 4. Assign who had what Tap an item, then tap the people who ordered it: - **One person** — the whole item goes to them. - **Two or more** — the item is split evenly between just those people. ## 5. Add tax and tip On the totals screen, enter the tax and choose a tip. SplitFair prorates both across each person by their share of the items. ## 6. Settle up Everyone's total is shown, and the per-person amounts always add up to the exact grand total. Hand the phone around, and you're done.
